RPN/LPN- Private Injection Nurse- Eastern Counties

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will practice in accordance with legislation and the standards as determined by their regulatory body and the practice setting. The RPN/LPN will have the knowledge to assess, select, implement and evaluate a wide range of nursing interventions to ensure consistent safe, competent and ethical care. Client groups receiving care may include Paediatrics for in home or school services and/or Adults with medical/health concerns. Care will take place within the community within a residential or institutional setting with referrals generated by a variety of sources including government agencies, employers, insurance companies or private payees.

Registered Practical Nurse

Caring individuals are needed to work shift and visit nursing. Reporting to the Nursing Supervisor, the RPN is responsible for the assessment and provision of professional nursing care to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assess clients’ status and develop/ revise care plans and treatment regimes , including health teaching accordingly;

  • To access clients’ safety status, including physical environment, make recommendations, implement interventions and advocate on client’s behalf to ensure client’s safety is maintained;

  • To document clearly and accurately using the appropriate tools in accordance with current legislative standards;

  • To maintain client confidentiality ;

  • To provide professional nursing care in accordance with regulatory body standards& guidelines, and applicable legislation

  • To maintain competency in nursing skills;

  • To communicate appropriate client information within the client’s interdisciplinary team to promote quality, client focused care;

  • To communicate any serious client or risk concerns immediately to the Nursing Supervisor;

  • To maintain an effective working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders;

  • To mentor new staff/ students as required;

  • To participate in in-service education;

  • To complete all other tasks as assigned.


  • Completion of 2 year Practical Nursing Diploma

  • RPN holding current registration in Ontario

  • Current drivers license and reliable vehicle

  • Current CPR C and First Aid Certificate

  • High proficiency in English speaking and writing skills

  • French is considered an asset

  • Must be able to work evenings and every second weekend


• Must have 1 – 2 years clinical experience

• 1 year in Community Health an asset

Candidates successful in obtaining employment will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening valid within six (6) months of start date as well as an up-to-date negative TB (Tuberculosis) test and proof of current immunization status..
