Extendicare named to Globe and Mail Women Lead Here List for third consecutive year

For the third consecutive year, Extendicare has been named to the Globe and Mail Women Lead Here List, a recognition of representation of women in leadership roles through this annual benchmark of executive gender diversity in large Canadian corporate organizations.

Extendicare is among 97 Women Lead Here honourees selected after a review of 500 organizations in Canada.

Women leaders can be found at all levels of our organization and play a critical role in helping us deliver on our mission to help people live better.

At ParaMed, Extendicare’s home health care division, thousands of nurses, personal support workers (PSWs), home support workers (HSWs) and other care professionals provide their time, expertise, and compassion, to support people in their own homes and communities.

As they invest in care, ParaMed invests in their ongoing learning and career development.

“ParaMed is such a big organization that is so supportive and wants to see their staff grow and become bigger things in their career,” says Monique, a Care and Services Manager in the Greater Toronto Area.

“I started as a PSW supervisor, I moved from PSW supervisor to nursing supervisor, to educator,” says Janeen, Clinical Educator at ParaMed Oshawa. “Being a woman at ParaMed and being in a leadership role is fantastic. It shows that women are not just compassionate but also very strong, and strong-willed.”
